How can we guarantee that our fruits and vegetables were cultivated organically?
In Quebec, the process of organic certification and the protection of the designation “organic” (“Bio” in French) is governed by the legal framework known as the Act Respecting Reserved Designations (A-20.02). This act guarantees integrity in organic certification.
Organic certification standards are covered by international agreements. In Quebec, the CAAQ (Conseil des appellations agroalimentaires du Québec) is the official provincial authority for managing and monitoring reserved agri-food designations. This ensures that labelled organic products imported to Quebec were certified by an accredited certification organization.
The Jardin des Anges farm is certified by GarantieBio-ECOCERT
The GarantieBio- ECOCERT control program has verified and attested that the methods used at Jardin des Anges respect the regulations of organic agriculture as described by the 2002 specification manual in accordance with the CAAQ’s system of reference.
